I JUST THOUGHT I LET YOU KNOW….

This world is full of all sorts of things happening, daily, hourly, every minute. And just like everybody else I like some, dislike others, agree and disagree in equal measures and form good or bad opinions about more or less everything I hear, read and encounter. These opinions are then voiced in the privacy of my own home, rarely ever challenged, never doubted.  And then I thought – I have a laptop, broadband, a blog and a reasonable vocabulary, so why not voice my thoughts on this world and its contents aloud here for all of you to hear and see if anything comes back.

Today I just introduce the concept, so you know what to expect over the next few month or until I get bored with it.

I am not after a discussion – I know a lot about you because most of you have got their own blog and I do read quite a few, at least the more interesting ones, the ones that give me something, either knowledge, laughter, interesting links, new insights or new ideas. I just fancy talking to the world about stuff that’s in my head.

I give you an example. Today (25/03/11) there is a little local news item on the BBC news site. Somebody stole some foodstuff from a kebab shop, one of the items being a whole big frozen kebab block. One of the sentences read: “Anyone offered kebab meat in suspicious circumstances is asked to contact British Transport police.” I had to laugh – did nobody at the BBC read the article before publishing? It’s not wrong or bad language or wrong grammar, it is just so ridiculous. And it makes you want to side with the robbers. What circumstance is suspicious? The back of a van, with masked people whispering *the finest kebab fresh from the lamb for only a fiver* – the hoodie in the dark alley reaching inside his half zipped-up jacket to offer you a greasy small packet, 10 gram for a fiver, real good stuff – the dark handsome stranger approaching somebody in the gents with a bulging pocket full of Turkish meat? I have no idea what to look out for but I can feel a sit com coming on.

There, that shows you roughly what will be happening here. Sometimes it might even be something more serious. But I doubt it, I don’t take this world serious anymore.
